The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) is the statutory body for planning, formulation, and maintenance of norms and standards for technical education system in India.

ITIs Information

ITIs provide vocational training in various trades to prepare students for industrial jobs, apprenticeships, and government schemes.

Admission Policy

  • Open to 8th, 10th, or 12th pass students depending on the trade and institute.
  • Merit-based or entrance test-based in some states.

Training & Assessment Policy

  • Competency-based assessment following NCVT/SCVT standards.
  • Continuous practical evaluation, final trade tests, and project work.

Certification Policy

  • Certificates issued under NCVT are nationally recognized and valid for employment.
